Billing and Subscriptions
Manage your Kaname plan, upgrade or downgrade, and understand how billing works.
Kaname uses Paddle as its billing provider. All subscription management — upgrading, downgrading, and cancellation — happens through the Kaname billing page which connects to Paddle's secure checkout.
Viewing your current plan
Go to Settings → Billing to see:
- Your current plan name and price
- Billing cycle (monthly or annual)
- Next renewal date
- Usage against plan limits (mailboxes, team members, AI credits)
Plans and pricing
Kaname offers multiple plans to fit different team sizes. For current pricing, visit kaname.io/pricing.
Plan limits typically include:
| Limit | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Mailboxes | Number of Gmail accounts you can connect |
| Team members | Number of users on your workspace |
| AI credits | Monthly usage of Smart Compose and AI summaries |
| Storage | Total attachment and thread storage |
If you hit a plan limit, Kaname will notify you in-app and prompt you to upgrade.
Upgrading your plan
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Upgrade plan or Change plan
- Select the plan you want to upgrade to
- Choose monthly or annual billing (annual is discounted)
- You will be redirected to Paddle's secure checkout
- Complete payment with a credit or debit card
Plan upgrades take effect immediately. You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period.
Downgrading your plan
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Change plan
- Select a lower-tier plan
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain your current plan's features until the renewal date. If your current usage exceeds the limits of the downgraded plan (e.g., you have 4 mailboxes but the lower plan allows 2), you will need to disconnect excess mailboxes before the downgrade takes effect.
Annual vs monthly billing
Annual billing is available at a discount compared to monthly. When you switch from monthly to annual:
- You are charged for 12 months upfront at the discounted annual rate
- Any unused days on your current monthly billing period are credited against the annual charge
- Your renewal date changes to 12 months from the switch date
Cancelling your subscription
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Cancel subscription or Manage subscription
- You will be directed to Paddle's customer portal where you can confirm the cancellation
After cancellation, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier (if one is available) or becomes inactive.
You can re-subscribe at any time from Settings → Billing.
Refund policy
Kaname's refund policy is detailed at kaname.io/refund-policy. In general, annual plan refunds are available within a specific window after purchase. Monthly plan charges are non-refundable after the billing period begins. Contact support from Settings → Support to discuss a refund.
Payment methods
Kaname accepts major credit and debit cards via Paddle. Paddle handles all payment processing — Kaname does not store your card details.
To update your payment method:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Update payment method or Manage billing
- You will be redirected to Paddle's customer portal
- Update your card details securely
Invoices and receipts
Paddle sends a receipt email after each successful charge. To download past invoices:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click View invoices or Billing history
- You will see a list of past charges with download links for each invoice
