1. Overview
Kaname offers subscription plans billed monthly or yearly. Web subscriptions are processed directly through Dodo Payments. All plans include a 14-day free trial so you can fully evaluate the Service before being charged. This policy explains when refunds are available, how to request one, and how disputes are handled.
2. Free Trial
- Every paid plan includes a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period.
- If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged at all. No refund request is necessary.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically start and your payment method will be charged at the plan rate.
3. Subscription Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing settings inside the Kaname application.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain full access to the Service until that date.
- Cancelling a subscription does not automatically trigger a refund for the current billing period already paid.
4. Refund Eligibility
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. However, we will issue a refund in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charge: You were charged more than once for the same subscription period due to a billing error.
- Charge after cancellation: You were charged after successfully cancelling your subscription within the stated cancellation window.
- Service unavailability: The Service was materially unavailable or non-functional for a significant portion of a paid billing period due to issues on our end, and we were unable to resolve it within a reasonable time.
- 7-day new subscriber window: If you are a first-time paying subscriber (i.e., your free trial has just converted) and you contact us within 7 days of your first charge, we will review your request and may issue a refund at our discretion, particularly if you experienced a technical issue preventing you from using the Service.
- Required by law: Where applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires a refund, we will honour it.
5. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- You changed your mind after the free trial converted to a paid subscription.
- You forgot to cancel before the next billing cycle renewed.
- You did not use the Service during a paid period.
- Partial refunds for unused portions of a monthly or yearly subscription period are not provided unless required by law.
- Promotional or discounted pricing periods (e.g., first-month discount) — the discounted amount paid is non-refundable after the promotional period has been used.
6. Yearly Subscriptions
- Yearly plans are charged upfront for 12 months. We encourage you to use the free trial and try the monthly plan first before committing to yearly billing.
- If you subscribed to a yearly plan and encounter a significant issue within the first 14 days, contact us and we will review your case individually. Refunds for yearly plans outside this window are issued only where required by law.
7. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Request" and include the following:
- The email address associated with your Kaname account
- The date of the charge you are disputing
- The amount charged
- A brief description of the issue or reason for the request
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. If approved, refunds are processed through Dodo Payments and typically appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
- If you believe you have been incorrectly charged, please contact us first at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card provider. We resolve most billing issues quickly and directly.
- Initiating an unjustified chargeback may result in suspension of your Kaname account while the dispute is under review. Access will be restored once the dispute is resolved.
- Fraudulent chargebacks may be disputed with supporting transaction evidence provided to your payment provider.
9. Payment Processor
Web subscriptions are processed directly by Dodo Payments. Kaname does not store your full credit card details. Refunds are returned to the original payment method on file with Dodo Payments. If your card has expired or your account has changed, please contact us and we will work with Dodo Payments to arrange an alternate refund method.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. The updated policy is effective from the date shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
